She married Samuel M. Porter on 18 Aug 1849 in Adams Co., OH.
At the time of the 1850 census, Elizabeth & Samuel lived "next door" to her parents in Jacksonville, Adams Co. By 1860, they were living in Allen Twp., La Salle Co., IL; however, they lived for a short period of time in KY before settling in IL.
Elizabeth & Samuel had three known children: Maria L. (Parmelee); Joseph LeRoy; and David A. Several other children died in infancy.
Elizabeth died before she turned 30. Sam remarried to Amanda Brunson some seven years later.
Although her name is shown only as Elizabeth in family records, Elizabeth's full name was apparently Ann Elizabeth, as the replacement tombstone has her name as "Ann E." (She is also called Ann E. in the La Salle 1877 county history.) The cemetery transcription book has two entries for her in the same block & lot. Possibly one transcription was from her original stone (perhaps standing when an early transcription of the cemetery was done) and the other from the replacement tombstone ("Porter Monument"). Or it's possible that Ann E. = Elizabeth of this memorial and Elizabeth could have been her infant child. But that is speculation. The cemetery book includes:
Ann E. Porter 1832 - 1861
Elizabeth Porter - d. 3 March 1861
Note that Sprinkle family records show her date of birth as 9 Nov 1831 and death as 2 Mar 1861.
