John Swafford, 65, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, May 29, 2009, at Mercy Hospital. He was born October 15, 1943 near Kansas City, Missouri, to Howard Clinton and Elsie Mae Swafford. John had a love for sports, riding his motorcycle, music and most of all his family. He was employed by Belger Cartage Service for 39 years. John was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Connie Lou Swafford his parents, Howard and Elsie sister, Mildred Johnston brother, Howard Swafford, Jr. and grandson, John Hazel. He is survived by 5 daughters: Janice Swafford, Judi Ann Swafford, Lisa Martinez, Theresa Stangl, all of OKC, and Sylvia Fuhrig of St. Louis, MO 2 sons: Anthony Theesfeld of OKC, James Theesfeld of Springhill, TN 2 sisters: Grace Strickland and Mary Clancy 2 brothers: Robert and James Swafford 19 grandchildren, including John Britt of Burlington, VT, whom he helped raise 8 great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends. Prayer service will be 7:00 pm, Monday, June 1, 2009, at Barnes Friederich FH Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Moore. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
