Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Higgins Cemetery with Gordon Lawson officiating. Arrangements are by Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian.
Mary was born July 12, 1923, in Lipscomb County to the late Anton Bucher and Ida Horne Bucher. She attended schools in Higgins.
She married Elbridge Thomas on July 27, 1940, in Arnett, Okla. He preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1991.
They moved to Higgins in 1972 from Ellis County, Okla. Mary loved taking care of the family livestock and was a member of the Church of Christ.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Thomas; two brothers, Frank and Herman Bucher; a sister, Elna Thomas; and a son-in-law, R.B. Willyard.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Sue Willyard and Margie Barton, both of Higgins; three grandchildren, Patty Willyard of Amarillo, Todd Barton of Dallas and Clayton Barton of Arnett; five great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Gaydean Bucher of Canadian.
The family suggest memorials be to a favorite charity.
