GEORGE W. SCOBEE
SHERIDAN, WYO. – George William Scobee homesteaded in Converse County in 1931 and began ranching east of Sheridan in 1939.
Mr. Scobee died Sunday in Hardin, Mont. He was 71.
Born in Burden, Kan., he was the son of John and Nancy Ann Scobee. He married Flossie May Faulkner.
Survivors include the widow; three sons, William A., of Spearfish, S.D., Henry A., of Bighorn, Mont. And Clarence R., of Brighton, Utah; two daughters, Georgia Mae Popp of Dayton, Wyo and Rosie Ann Butler of Hardin, Mont.; three brothers, Clarence R., of Grinnell, iowa., DeForest of Cedar point, Kan., and Thomas R. of Cedar Falls, Iowa; three sisters, Fronie Freeborn of Florence, Kan., Sara Jane Parker of Holly, Colo., and Rosie Dell Murphy of Monett, Mo.; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday in Championb Funeral home. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
