Rosie graduated from Clements High School and was a member of the First Church of God. She was one of the founding members of the Monett Senior Citizen's Center and a member of the Railroad Retirement Club. Rosie was an avid bowler and card player. She especially enjoyed playing pinochle and spending time with her kids and grandkids.

On May 30, 1937 in Wichita, KS, Rosie and Velorus V. Murphy were united in marriage. They were blessed with six children. Rosie and Velorus made Monett their home in June of 1963, moving from Ft. Scott, KS.

Preceded in death by her husband, two sons, John Frederick Murphy and Victor Eugene Murphy; one great-granddaughter, Jacqualine Kristean Beckley; and ten brothers and sisters.

Survivors include one son, three daughters, 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.
