Temperance Hanna Wells daughter of Absolum and Rebecca Wells was born in Zanesville, Ohio, August 12, 1866.
When a small child she came to Moulton, Iowa and grew to womanhood and was married to Elbert Childs, March 15, 1882.
To this union seven children were born. She made her home on a farm near Coatsville, Mo., and was converted and united with Coatsville Baptist church and remained a faithful member until the time of her death.
She was a faithful companion a loving mother and a kind neighbor and she has made many friends through her many years of life.
She is preceded in death by her husband and two sons Luther W., and Jack R.
She leaves to mourn her passing five daughters, Mrs. Marie; Guinn, Hammond, Ind; Mrs. Cuma Probasco Atlanta, Ga.; Mrs. Flo Henson, Des Moines, Ia.; Mrs. Esther Dahl, Huron, S. Dak. and Mrs. Marguerite Gorman of Moberly, Mo. Nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held at the Coatsville Baptist church on Friday afternoon conducted by the Rev. Cleeton, of near Seymour, long time friend of the family. Burial was in Coatsville cemetery.
