WOLD, Janet Bruce was born February 11, 1931, in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Elmer Aubrey and Mable Egan Bruce. She passed away Saturday, December 1, 2007, in Lancaster at the age of 76. Jan attended school in Los Angeles. She married Bob Harkins on July 28, 1950. They were divorced in 1959. Jan was paralyzed in 1957, and lived a fulfilling life, raising her family and serving others, for 50 years as a paraplegic. She was an inspiration to many. Her influence will affect generations to come. She
married Don Wold on July 31, 1964. Their family was sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple in 1967. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities. Jan has been a resident of Lancaster since 1965. She loved her doggies, Hollywood, rock & roll, watching movies, swimming, throwing parties and taking those in need under her wing. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Don. She is survived by her children, Bob (Joyce) Wold of Mesa, Ariz., Susee (Michael) Orlando of Lancaster, and Kari (Jim) Peterson of Oswego, Illinois, 14 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren, brother Lee (Glenda) Bruce, and sister Kay (Jerry) Aria. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, December 7, 2007, in the LDS Chapel, located at 1701 W. Lancaster Blvd., Lancaster. Interment will be in the Pioneer East Line Cemetery, Bishop, Calif., on Saturday, December 8, 2007. Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
