He had retired from farming in 1975. Born in Edwardsville, he was the son the late Louis and Emma (Kassing) Bade. He married Edna W. Meek on May 30,1936, in Edwardsville. She survives along with a son, Donald E. of Greenville; a daughter, Verna Dettmer of Edwardsville; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Pearl Heepke of Edwardsville and Selma Meek of Hartford.
Visitation will be at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville after 4 p.m. Wednesday and until noon on Thursday when the body will be taken to the Eden United Church of Christ to lie in state until time of service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Wesley Bornemann will conduct the funeral, and burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery on Bluff Road.
Memorials may be given to the Eden Church Elevator Fund.
