He was born August 30, 1913 in Kiel, son of the late Andrew and Anna Michels Dhein.
Francis attended SS Peter & Paul Catholic Grade School and was a 1933 graduate of Kiel High School. He continued his education at Sheboygan Business College.
Francis was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country in the Field Artillery Division from 1943-1946 in the European Theatre.
He was employed at Wisconsin Bridge & Iron Company in Milwaukee, Sheboygan Chair and retired from Plastics Engineering Co. in Sheboygan after 27 years in 1979.
Francis was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Council No. 722, Knights of Columbus, was a member of Plastics Engineering Quarter Century Club and Wolf-Olson Post No. 1230 VFW. He was a member of Holy Name Parish, Sheboygan until 2003 when he joined Holy Rosary Parish, New Holstein. Francis enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. He also had an extended collection of Indian Artifacts.
Survivors include three sisters, Genrose Miller, Kiel, Grace Dhein, Appleton, Virginia (Melvin "Sam") Bartelt, Appleton.
He was preceded in death by two nephews, Michael Bartelt and Glen Miller and one niece, Nancy Vollmar.
