Bobbie Jean was a loving wife and a doting mother. She loved her family; in return, her family loved her dearly. She loved her grandchildren and doted on them, as well.
She had many friends and they shared lots of laughter in her home. She could tell the best stories and one never got turned of hearing them. Everyone that met Bobbie Jean Cooper fell in love with her. She was a lot like Lucy. Funny and a kind hearted caring person.
I loved watching her getting ready to tell a funny story or a joke. She had an awesome sense of humor and you could always tell it was going to be a good one by watching her face. Her lips would curl up on each side and then you would see a twinkle in her eyes.
Aunt Bobbie Jean kept a spotless house even after working the nightshift at Kimberley-Clark. She would go to work and then come home, clean house, cook for her family and always seem to have energy.
She was a member of McLemore Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Memphis, TN.
Bobbie Jean was more to me than an Aunt. After my parents divorced she opened her home to my dad and me until we found a house. She was like a second mother to me. After we found a house she helped me decorate it and it became a home.
Aunt Bobbie Jean taught me some of her famous recipes. The only one she would not share was her carrot cake. I would sit and watch her grate carrots and watch her add spices, eggs, flour until I was able to make it. Of course, my carrot cake was not as good as hers, but it ran a close second. :-)
