THOMPSON, Alma Burton, 91, of 125 Locust Ave., Dublin, affectionately known as "Mamaw", died early Friday morning, December 8, 1995, at her home. Born in Bland County, January 13, 1904, she was the daughter of the late James A. Burton and Cora Corder Burton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Zeb Miller Thompson. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Dublin United Methodist Church since 1946. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Edith T. Wayne and Sue Thompson, both of Dublin; one son, Zebbie M. Thompson, Dublin; one son-in-law, Al Wayne; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn A. Thompson; one sister, Leona Strouse, Bland; six grandchildren and spouses, Curtis and Sheri Thompson, Diane and Tony Finn, Jennifer Thompson, Tammy Wayne, Joy Wayne, Christi Wayne; two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Dublin United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Patterson and Rev. Frank Bauman officiating. Visiting will be Sunday from 1:30 until 3 p.m. from the Dublin United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials may be made to the Dublin United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 577, Dublin, VA 24084. Thomas M. Seagle & Sons handling arrangements.
