Lois M. Ricke, 75, died Monday, March 28, 15 9:45 p.m. in the IOOF Nursing Home, where she had been the past year, having been in failing health. Formerly she resided on R.r.7, Greensburg, most of her married life. She lived a short time on North Franklin before going to the IOOF Home.
Mrs. Ricke was born Sept. 29, 1907, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Alva Ernest and Kathryn Kemp Malone. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and had been a Gray Lady at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital. She was also a member of the D of I.
She was married to Louis Vincent Ricke Feb. 3, 1941, in Greensburg, and he preceded her in death Juoly 16, 1967. She is survived by one son, David L. Ricke, Greensburg, a daughter-in-law, Susie Ricke; a daughter, Susan Wallace, Cincinnati; five grandchildren: Stephanie, Elizabeth, Sarah and Emily Ricke, and Ernie Wallace; three sisters: Mrs. Johnny Walker, Dayton, Ohio, Janet Bayer, St. Clair Shores, Mich. and Mrs. Walter Hopkins, New Carlisle, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Malone and a grandson, Howard D. Wallace.
The services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. John Geis officiating, and with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, where a rosary will be heard at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. The family suggests that memorials be in the form of donations to the Decatur County Memorial Hospital, in recognition of Mrs. Ricke's service with the Gray Ladies.
