Wife of Ray MangumO. Kathleen (Ryburn) Mangum, 94 passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 30, 2017. Kathleen was born on January 17, 1923 to William Henry and Willie Alma (Webb) Ryburn in Howe, OK. She attended school in Howe, OK and in Heavener, OK. Her first husband was John O. Sanford whom she married on July 21, 1939. During World War II she worked as a welder “Rosie the Riveter”. Later, she married Ray Mangum on July 14, 1945, in Oakland, CA. She worked at the Federal Aviation Administration, but finished her career working for the Social Security Administration. In later years she was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Shreveport, LA and in Lincoln, NE. She had a real interest in the genealogy of her family and of her husband’s family. They traveled around to many states to do hands-on research for both families. After his death on December 22, 2000 she moved to Lincoln, NE in 2003 to be near family.

She is survived by two sisters, Patsy Ann Wann, Heavener, OK and Ella Jo Marshall, Rockville, IL.; her daughter, Reba (Sanford) Schafer (Derald Kohles), grandsons Scott Boles, Brian Boles (Jennifer), Conan Schafer (Rebecka), Eric Schafer (Renee), Jeremy Schafer (Jamie Jorgensen); six grandchildren, Arcane and Isybella Boles, Tanner, Nadia and Kira Schafer, Kash Schafer, all of Lincoln, NE; many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 11th, 1:00 PM at the Thomas Wren Cemetery in Martin, LA.
