COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Phillips Watson Scarlett, 65, will be conducted at the chapel of Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home Wednesday, July 30, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roosevelt Crawford and the Rev. Bobby Roberts officiating.
Mr. Scarlett died July 28 in the local hospital following an extended illness.
He was a native of Putnam County, the son of Mrs. Vada Bell Scarlett and the late Roscoe Scarlett. He was a retired employee of General Motors Corporation, a veteran of World War II, a Mason and a Shriner.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Clara Taylor Scarlett; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Williford and Mrs. Verda Bussell of Cookeville; five brothers, Theodore, Haskell and George K. Scarlett of
Cookeville, Rapheal Scarlett of Knoxville and Willard Scarlett of Willoughby, OH.
A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted from the funeral home at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, July 29. Burial will be in Judd Cemetery.
