Mary Helen Alexander, age 82, formerly of Centerville, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, in Savannah, Tenn. She was born June 11, 1926, in Centerville to Elbert and Julia Hamilton Andrews. Mary was a 1944 graduate of Centerville High School. She was a member of Greens Fork United Methodist Church. Mary was a homemaker. Survivors include her daughters, Darlene Stevenson of Oolitic, Ind., and Melissa Murphy of Fort Worth, Texas; sons, Rev. Todd Alexander of Nashville, Tenn. and Erin Alexander of Savannah, Tenn; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Nan Reich of Chicago, Ill.; nieces; nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alexander; son, Brian Alexander; her parents and five brothers. Visitation for Mary Helen Alexander will be from 12-2 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main St., Centerville. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Monday at the Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Alexander officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240.
