Remyszewski, Gertrude L. Birch Run, Michgan Age 75, died at her home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, May 24, 2009 after a long battle with cancer. Gertrude was born on March 16, 1934 in Flint, Michigan to the late Glenwood and Ruth (Rodden) Brown. On February 14, 2009 she celebrated 30 years of marriage to Richard Remyszewski. Richard and Gertrude were "Winter Texans", spending the winters of the last 28 years in Texas. She was a member of St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Saginaw and the Ladies Society of St. Christopher's Catholic Church. Gertrude enjoyed traveling, dancing, flowers, gardening, water balloon fights and crocheting, in which she had won 1st prize for her work. During life, she had donated to many charities including the Paralyzed Veterans of America. She had a witty sense of humor until the end of her life. Left to cherish her memory are: husband, Richard of Birch Run; son, Timothy (Tina) Morris of Flint; daughters, Penny (Bill) Cygan of Millington, Debbie (Doug) Ochodnicky of Texas, Linda Pickel of Alaska; step daughters, Sue (Jim) Pugh of St. Charles, Sandra Remyszewski of Saginaw, Sharon (John) Greider of Edwardsberg, Michigan; step son, Michael (Dara) Remyszewski of Pennsylvania; sister, Anna Mae Wolfgram of Florida; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and special friends. Gertrude was also preceded in death by her youngest son, Steven Morris. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2009 at St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 3945 Williamson Rd., Saginaw, Fr. John Mancini, OSFS officiating. Burial at Roselawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run on Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. and Thursday from 12-4 and 6-9 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. Vigil Service conducted by Sister Ellen Rinke, IHM. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Paralyzed Veterans of America or the Saginaw Rescue Mission.
