Penny Baldwin, 80, of Lubbock passed away while at home and joined our Lord on Saturday, May 23, 2009.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Baldwin in 2000; a daughter, Sandra Dunne; two brothers; and two sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Mike and wife Carolyn Acres, Greg and wife Jo Acres; a sister, Jean McDowell; many nieces and nephews; several cousins; Baldwin descendents; and dear friends from Southcrest Baptist Church and Trinity Baptist Church.

Penny was born November 11, 1928 in Estacado to John and Nettie Pounds. She moved to Lubbock in 1952. She married John H. Baldwin on June 24, 1977 in Las Vegas, Nev. After working many years at West Texas Caterpillar and United Oil and Grease, Penny spent her retirement years taking care of others by calling friends and praying for those in need. She was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at Sanders Memorial Chapel Friday, May 29 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
