ERB, Alvin J. - Peacefully, on Thursday, July 11. 1996, at St Mary's Hospital, in Kitchener, Alvin John Erb of Hampstead, born in Wellesley, 72 years ago, son of the late Moses O. Erb and the late Mary Steinman. Alvin was employed with Moffatt & White Construction for 23 years. He was also employed with Donald Erb Construction from 1978-1989. Mr. Erb was a member of the Crosshill Mennonite Church, where he was active as a Trustee and a Sunday School teacher. He also served on the Mennonite Disaster Service Committee. Alvin was a charter member of the Nith Valley Rod & Gun Club. Beloved husband of Annie Dorothy (Jantzi) Erb of Hampstead; dear father "of Donald and his wife Nelda Erb of RR 1, Milverton, Dianne and her husband Otto Noeske of RR 2, St. Mary's; loving brother of Milton and his wife Marjorie Erb of Wellesley, Harold and his wife Violet Erb of Wellesley, Mrs. Leona Padington of Goderich, Eva and her husband Milton Kuepfer of Crosshill, Wilma and her husband Norman Kuepfer of Linwood. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Nathan, Jeremy, Christine and Jennifer Erb, Eric and Mark Noeske. Predeceased by his brother-in-law-, Earl Padington, 19. Visitation at the Futher Brothers Funeral Home, 40 Henry St. W., in Wellesley, this evening (Friday) from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon, Sunday, July 14, 1996, removal will be made to the Maple View Mennonite Church for the funeral service at 2: 30 p.m., Rev. Jamie Gerber and Rev. Ray Erb will officiate. Burial will follow in the Maple View Mennonite Cemetery. Memorials to the Waterloo Regional Lung Association, St. Mary's Hospital Foundation or to the Crosshill Mennonite Church Building Fund would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
