"In Memory GEORGE LENOIR ALLISON

George Lenoir Allison, son of George Wilkerson and Mary Ellen Lenoir Allison, was born on 415 South Walnut Street in McPherson, Kansas, on July 31, 1889. He attended the McPherson Public Schools and graduated from the Kemper Military School at Boonville, Missouri, in 1909. He then furthered his education by attending Kansas University and the University of Southern California. During World War I, he served as a Captain in the Army of the United States. In the year 1922, George was admitted to practice law and on January 28, 1943, he was appointed Judge of the Ninth Judicial District of Kansas. He held this position until his retirement in 1961.

On August 1, 1917, George was united in marriage to Eleanor Ruth Huston in Topeka, Kansas. This union was blessed with two sons: George Lenoir, Jr. and William John. George, Jr. preceded his father in death in the year 1921. George and Ruth were blessed with nearly fifty years of companionship. He was a devoted husband and father, always ready to give counsel and encouragement to his family and friends. George was a member of the First Christian Church. He also was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Lodge. Judge Allison, a lifetime resident of this community and having taken an active part in civic and business affairs over the years, shall long be remembered for the devotion he showed in serving and helping others during his lifetime.

After a sudden illness, George passed on to eternal rest at his home on 303 South Walnut Street, on Wednesday, March 15, 1967, at the age of seventy-seven years.
Surviving members of his family include his loving wife, Ruth, and one son, William John, San Rafael, California.
The memorial service conducted by the Reverend Oscar T. Moline of the First Christian Church on Friday, March 17, 1967, at two o'clock p.m., from the Quiring-Glidden Chapel. Music "How Great Thou Art" and "Faith of Our Fathers." Mrs. Lloyd Larsen at the organ.

The resting place, The McPherson Cemetery. The Harry B. Dorst Post No. 24 of the American Legion will conduct the committal service."

Mr. Allison was born July 31, 1889, at McPherson, son of George W. and Mary Ellen Lenoir Allison and was married to Ruth Huston Aug. 1, 1917, at Topeka and she survives. He was a lifetime resident of McPherson. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
Surviving, besides the widow, is a son, William J. Allison, San Rafael, Calif.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later to Quiring-Glidden Funeral Home."
