BLACKSBURG - Elizabeth Ellis Lillard passed away on Thursday, March 19, 1992, at Heritage Hall Health Care Center in Blacksburg, Virginia, after a lengthy illness. She was a daughter of the late Luverna W. and Joseph B. Ellis. She attended Glenville State College, taught in the West Virginia public schools for six years and had lived in Blacksburg since her marriage in 1936 to James H. Lillard, Professor Emeritus of Agricultural Engineering at Virginia Tech. Elizabeth is survived by her husband of the home, one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Bill Simpson, Winston-Salem, North Carolina; three granddaughters, Wendy, Amy, and Paige Simpson; and one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Herman Rogers, Buckhannon, West Virginia. A memorial service will be held at the Blacksburg Baptist Church, Saturday, March 21, at 2:00 p.m. followed by a visitation in the church parlor for family and friends. Dr. Ray Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Hebron Church in Madison, Virginia, on Sunday, March 22, at 1:00 p.m. The Rev. Neil Binford will officiate. The family requeststhat in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Blacksburg Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 550 N. Main St., Blacksburg, Virginia 24060, or to the Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 200 Progress St., N. E., Blacksburg, Virginia 24060. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
