CLEVELAND - Thelma Rae Erickson Sherman, age 69, passed away peacefully April 11, 2002 at her home.

She was born July 31, 1932 in Cleveland to Carl R. "Whitey" and Cell Christensen Erickson. Thelma married Joseph R. Sherman June 18, 1951 in Ferron, later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple June 16, 1992.

She loved bowling and was very good at it. She enjoyed shopping and visiting with people. She had a profound love of people and helping those in need. She deeply loved her children and grandchildren and was "the proudest grandma ever."

Thelma is survived by her husband, Joe, with whom she shared 50 wonderful years residing in Cleveland; two children, Jolene R. Ekstrom and husband, Dee, Ogden; Carl G. "Shorty" Sherman and wife, Cindy, Huntington; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Arthur Erickson. Preceded in death by parents and three brothers.

She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and many friends she leaves behind.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 16, at 11 a.m. at the Cleveland LDS Chapel. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Cleveland Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
