She married William C. Prather on June 17, 1868. Together they had one son, Willam H. Prather, Jr. in 1870. After the death of her first husband, she married Judge James Eldrage Dillard, a state senator a later district judge.
She gave to Dillard seven children, but only six live to adulthood. Sarah died in 1928.
