Randell Tarin is a 9th generation Texan and, like most Americans has a Heinz 57 ancestry. Having been involved in genealogy for over 30 years, he can trace his father's Hispanic ancestry to the earliest settlements of San Antonio and many of his direct ancestors were directly involved in the formation of Texas.

His mother's family took the long route to Texas from Europe to America via Virginia and the surrounding colonies.

Randell is an avid researcher and has contributed numerous articles to the Texas State Historical Associations "New Handbook of Texas"
