Antonia Padilla, age 82, a lifetime resident of Anton Chico, N.M., passed away on Sunday June 8, 2008 at the Las Palomas Nursing Home in Albuquerque.

She ws born in Dilia, N.M. on April 18, 1926, to the late Estevan Gonzales and Sinfornia Baca Gonzales and was united in marriage to the late Luis Padilla, Sr.

She loved to sew, play bingo, gardening and being outdoors.

A lifetime Catholic, she was a member of the St. Joseph's Church in Anton Chico.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Estevan and Sinfornia Gonzales; husband: Luis Padilla Sr.; sons: Luis Padilla Jr., Henry Padilla, Felipe Padilla, and Baby Jacob Padilla; son-in-law: Joaquin Velasquez and Derek Padilla; brother: Andres Gonzales; sister: Reynalda Baca and Juanita Baca.

She is survived by her daughters: Antonia Nila Velasquez of Anton Chico, Mary Gutierrez and husband Jesus and Maria Elena Cano and husband Bernie all of Albuquerque; son: Loren Padilla of Anton Chico; grandchildren: Louie Padilla III, Laura Padilla, Adrianna Campos, Jackie Romero, Michael Velasquez, Howard Velasquez, Viola Darrow, Brenda Darnell, Consuelo Cano, Bernardo Cano, Esteban Cano, Felipe Padilla, Jr., Francisco Padilla, Victoria Padilla and Oliva Padilla; 13 great-grandchildren; sister: Mercedes Gutierrez of Clovis, N.M.; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Rosary devotional services will be conducted this evening at 7 at the Rogers Chapel in Las Vegas, N.M. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday morning at 11 at the St. Joseph's Church in Anton Chico, with Father Antonio Mondragon as celebrant.

Interment will follow at the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Anton Chico, with the following serving as casket bearers: Michael Velasquez, Howard Velasquez, Felipe Padilla, Jr., Francisco Padilla, Bernardo Cano and Esteban Cano.

Serving as honary bearers will be all her remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
