Born Johanne Henriette Brill in Meuhlow,(Church records state Milo) Brandenburg, Prussia on August 7, 1858 and she died April 6, 1937 in Independence, Missouri. She was the daughter of Johanne Friedrich Gustav "August" Brill and Minnie Esther Fischer Brill. She emigrated to the United States at the age of 6 in 1864 with her parents and two siblings.
Hattie married Lewis August Fowler in December 1878 in Lamoni, Decatur County, Iowa. To this union 8 children were born.
Hattie was baptised on August 22, 1886 at Lamoni, Decatur, Iowa by A.S. Cochran.
Obit--Mrs. Hattie Henrietta Fowler, age 78 died April 6, 1937 at her Independence, Missouri home--1221 S. Pleasant.
She is survived by four daughters; Mrs. Alice McLees of the home, Mrs Minnie Clements, Mrs. Lula Nelson and Mrs. Vida Rhodes--and three sons; Frank, Lewis and Wilbur. One brother, Otto Brill lives in Streator, Illinois. Burial at Mound Grove Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marie Fowler Barrett.
