Obituary
Martha Ann Cash was born in Pulaski county, Kentucky, April 4th 1831. She grew up in that county and was married there to A. G. Watson January 4th, 1855. With the exception of two years spent in Illinois about the time of the close of the civil war, they lived in Kentucky until 1881 when they removed to Montgomery, county, Kansas, where they have since resided, their home being about a mile and a half southwest of Walker Mound in Independence township.
Mr. and Mrs. Watson have been the parents of nine children of whom eight are living. They are: John T. Watson, who lives near the home place. Jeremiah Watson, who formerly lived in this county but whose home is now at Valley Oak, Kentucky. Elmer Watson, of Fowler, Colorado. Emmett Watson, who lives at home, with his father. Nancy Elrod, of Shell Knob, Missouri. Mary Bloomer, wife of J. C. Bloomer. Samantha Brown, wife of S. R. Brown, of Walnut grove, Kentucky. Carrie Babb, wife of Eli Babb, of this city.
The funeral services took place in the Friendship church at Oak Ridge, on the Monday following, and were conducted by Rev. J. L. Taylor, of t this city, assisted by Rev John Dyer, of the Wayside Baptist church. The interment was in the Harrisonville cemetery.
When Mrs. Watson was fifteen years of age she united
