Major Eulon Alfred Alford, USAF (ret), a native of Loranger and a resident of Hammond, died Wednesday at North Oaks Medical Center.

Visitation will be at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, tonight from 6 to 10 and on Saturday, after 8 a.m. until the funeral … at 10 a.m. Burial will be in John Felder Memorial Cemetery, Summit, Miss.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Felder Alford, Hammond; a daughter, Shirley Alford Brilleaux, Essex, England; a son, Paul William Alford, Hammond; four sisters, Kathleen Reeves, Albany, Helen Bankston, Hammond, Chat Johnson, Lake Charles, and Lillian McFarland, Houston, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Cole and Mary Cory, and a brother, Bailey Monroe Alford Jr….

He was a World War 11 veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Commander of Mobil Communications Flight #236 of Hammond, past president of the Hammond Rotary, a Gideon, a deacon and active member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a retired educator, having served in St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Parish.
