Born Charity Lou Alford on Jan. 27, 1911, in Wilbur, "Chat" Johnson, as she was known by her friends, lived most of her life in Lake Charles.
She died July 14, 2004, in a local hospital. As a member of First Baptist Church, she was devoted to the Ruth Sunday school class.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Thomas R. McFarland (Lillian Alford) of Kingswood, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Jan Ware of Lake Charles.
She was preceded in death by three sisters; two brothers; and her husbands C.P. Allen and Joseph F. Johnson, to each of whom she was successively married for 25 years.
Funeral services for Charity Lou Johnson will be at 2 p.m. today, July 16, in Johnson Funeral Home….
