Arlene Alldaffer, Charlotte, MI age 90, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2009. Mrs. Alldaffer was born on April 13, 1919 in Clarence Twp.. MI the daughter of Simeon and Almeda (Sebastian) Stukey. She left school after the eigth grade and worked dawn until dusk in the onion fields outside of Charlotte for $1.00 per day. Arlene loved fishing at Duck Lake and gardening, becoming a Master Gardener at age 80. She was caretaker of flowers at Veteran's Memorial Park and the American Legion, Post # 42, where she was also a member for 63 years and earned a life membership. She served the post as a Past President of Ladies Auxiliary, selling poppies for over 50 years and helping in the Bingo Kitchen. Arlene was also a member of Eastern Star and in her earlier years was active in the Junior Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed the times when family would gather around. Her very favorite was getting her family together twice a year, at Easter and Thanksgiving for a large dinner including children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, her sisters and brother and their familins. She is survived by daughters, Sharleen (Gary) Moer of Lansing, MI, Doreen (Phil) Vahs of Bellevue, MI., Cheryl (Dennis) Perry of Gainesville, FL.; son, Darrel (Deanna) Alldaffer of Eaton Rapids, Daughter-in-law, Flo Alldaffer of Vermontville MI; 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Magdalena (Elwood) Martin of Bedford, IN. and Helen Dowker of Charlote; Brother, Robert (Marie) Stukey of Charlotte. She was predeceased by her husband, Wayne in 1989, son Darwin 2006; brother, Bud in 1946.
Interment is at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing MI
