James G. Burk of Springtown, 65, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at Baylor Medical Center of Dallas.
Services will be at 2pm Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Springtown. Interment will follow at the Springtown Cemetery under the direction of White's Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at White's Funeral Home in Springtown between 6-8 pm Wednesday.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Annette Burk of Springtown; one son, Asa Burk of Fort Worth, and his wife, Alicia; one daughter, Cara Jolly and her husband Darin of Mabank; and two grandchildren.

James Grady Burk, 65, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003 in Dallas following a lengthy illness.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at First Baptist Church of Springtown. Burial: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Burk graduated from Texas Tech in 1963. He served in the 49th Armored Division of the National Guard. James retired from the Civil Service as an electrical engineer and from the Springtown ISD. He currently owned and operated the Prestige Lawn Service. Mr. Burk was active in the First Baptist Church. He was a former scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 303 in Springtown. James was an avid supporter of the Springtown Band from 1980-1993 and over the past 23 years he rarely missed his children's concerts.
Survivors: Wife of 42 years, Annette Burk; son, Asa Burk and wife, Alicia of Ft. Worth; daughter, Cara Jolly and husband, Darin of Mabank; brother, T.C. Burk of Silver City N.M.; grandchildren (Mr. Burk's pride and joy) Elizabeth and Aaron Jolly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
