Albert W. Baer, 89, Baraboo, passed away Friday, Dec. 6, 1985, at the Jefferson Meadows Care Center. Born in Lake Delton on Sept. 27, 1896, he was the son of Ed and Cora (Lesure) Baer. He worked as a driver for the Borden Company for 38 1/2 years and was a lifelong Baraboo resident. In 1971 he married Gladys Conklin. He was a veteran of World War I, serving with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post No. 26 and the Circus City World War I Veterans Barracks No. 3127. Besides his wife Gladys, he is survived by a stepson, Robert W. Haseltine, Geneseo, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. May Baer, Baraboo; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Boyd; and a half-brother, Vern Hewitt. Funeral services will be held in the Hanson Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 9, at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be in the family lot at Webster's Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
