Helen Ruth Montgomery, age 84, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 1993. She was born on February 5, 1909, on Oelwein, Iowa and worked for the State of Wisconsin and for Wolff-Kubly-Hirsig Department Store. She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Walker of Madison; a son Jim (Peg) Montgomery of Monona; two grandchildren, Tim and Dan Montgomery; and seven brothers and sisters, Jessie Davies of Portage, Mildred Hoch of King, Wisconsin, Grace Gutmann of Menomonee Falls, William R Miller of Madison, Pauline Luckey of Loveland, Colorado, Roy Miller of Portage and Betty Scheunemann of Chicago. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; four brothers, Albert, Floyd, Dale and Alfred Miller; a sister, Dorothy Swantz, and her parents, Alfred and Ora (vanSwearingen) Miller. Funeral services will be held at the Gunderson Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 20, 1993. Father Delbert Klink will officiate. Private burial will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
