Mrs. Elizabeth Roberts, one of the earliest settlers in West Bountiful, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Franklin Smith in Centerville,Utah, with whom she was spending a week. She felt as well as usual when she left home, but had been failing for a number of months. She was born to Thomas and Mary Mathews in Llangyfelach, Treboeth, Glamorgan, Wales. She married Thomas Roberts in 1852 in Wales. They immigrated to Utah 17 October 1853. Mrs. Roberts was the mother of nine children and a widow for about 50 years.
