Charles and Mercy Ann moved their little family from Bucks County, Pennsylvania to Muskingum County, Ohio sometime between 1837 and April of 1839. They moved to Springfield Township in Muskingum County with their 1st child Easten (b. abt 1837). Charles was a painter by trade, though at times was listed as a "farmer" on Census's. He was listed as a "painter" on his death index. After they arrived another daughter was born, Amanda (30 Apr, 1839). They continued to live in Springfield Township until 1868 when they moved to Newton Township, Muskingum County, Ohio.
