Married George Ruedi born in Switzerland and came to America to LeMars, Iowa at the age of nine along with a brother and three sisters and his widowed mother.

Elizabeth Rose was born in Louisville, Ohio and moved west with her parents and nine brothers and sisters to Holly Springs, Iowa. On February 22, 1898, George and Elizabeth were married and farmed. Because they wanted to join a Lutheran Church with a parochial school, they sold their land in Iowa and moved to Bloomfield, NE. This was in 1908 and the children then were: Martha, Anna, Bertha, Arnold, Catherine, Carl, and John.

A 160-acre farm southeast of town was bought. Because there were no improvements on the land, the family lived in town until a new house, barn, and other buildings could be built. Dad was progressive and they had running water and electricity in the house right from the start.

More children were added to the family after moving to the farm. There was Sophie, who died in infancy; George Jr.; Mary (Lloyd Schrader) and Ruth (William Huttmann).

Sister of Lewis Rose. They became members of the First Trinity Lutheran Church. They raised 10 children: Catherine, Carl, John, Sofie, George, Martha, Anna, Bertha, Arnold, Ruth, and Mary.
