Minnie Roper was born at Barron, Wisconsin on June 4, 1875. She came to Pierce in the latter part of the eighties - her parents being Mr. and Mrs. Wilder J. Roper. She was a family of three girls and three boys, four dying in infancy. Her brother Fred died at age 16 in Pierce in 1898. Her father also died in Pierce in 1903.
Deceased was united in marriage to Jacob "Jake" Marshall on September 11, 1892 in Pierce, Nebraska. To this union were born four children - Ruth, Merle, Edward, and Bernice. On June 20, 1912 they were divorced in Pueblo, Colorado. Four years after the father of the deceased passed away, the mother moved to Pueblo, Colorado being afflicted with tuberculosis trouble, where she died in 1911.
Mrs. Marshall lived here with her children several years after the mother left, but finally moved to Pueblo to be near her mother. They lived in Colorado about 8 years after which they moved to Foster, Nebraska residing there for the eight years.
Funeral services will be held at the M.E. Church at 10 o'clock conducted by Rev. G. M. Bing of Plain View. Burial will take place in Foster Cemetery.
