Joy Hogan Ball, aged 91, peacefully went to be with our Lord on Friday, December 16, 2005. Joy Ball was a loving military wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was born October 16, 1914 in Nacogdoches, TX. In her work as a medical technologist and her service throughout her life to church, scouting, and Christian organizations, she was enthusiastic and devoted. Living up to her name, she brought joy into the lives of many people and inspired them with her love of life and constant search for the positive in all situations. She was a member of St John's Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Vernon E Ball. Joy Ball is survived by her son, Thomas E. Ball and his wife Suzanne; daughter, Annette B. Martin; grandchildren, Katherine Spears and husband Steve, Elizabeth Eason and husband Tod, Molly Ann Martin and husband Gary Chinn, David Ross Martin; great-grandchildren, Evangeline, Augustus, Atalanta, and Anastacia Spears; sister-in-law Bonnie Dippel and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday December 21, 2005 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road, 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 2:00 P.M Thursday December 22, 2005 for a graveside service at 2:30 P.M at Fort Sam National Cemetery.
