Lena Corbett Nelson Lott, born August 26, 1925, in Pender County, NC, went to be with Our Lord on January 31, 2004, in Wilmington, NC, after a brief illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Minnie Jane and John R. Corbett; her brothers, Sam, Johnny, Nick and Tim Corbett; her husbands, Oscar A. Nelson and Donald A. Lott; and her first born and only son, Oscar A. Nelson, Jr.

Mrs. Lott is survived by one brother, Walter R. Corbett; and two sisters, Virginia Honeycutt (Bob) and Myrtle Lee Fowler (R.C.) who always supported her with love and compassion. She was always proud of her daughters and sons-in-law who survive her, Ruby Pugh (Remley), Mary Fox Currier (Jim ), Diane Rose (Larry), Jonnie Nelson Daniell (Ron), and daughter-in-law, Nancy Nelson.

Grandchildren, whom she loved are Kenneth Pugh (Bobbie), Robert Nelson (Robbin) Deborah O'Neil (Brian) Jimmy Thornton, Pam Tomosunas, Missy Shorette (Kyle) and Wayne Rose.

Great-grandchildren, who always put a smile on her face are Robert and Michael Nelson, Emil Tomosunas, Caroline, Charlotte, Edward and Margaret O'Neil and Marshall Spivey-Rose. Also surviving are many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.

Lena will forever be remembered for her strong faith in God and her integrity and dignity, as her life centered around her family, friends, and church. She was always active in the Baptist Church she attended. She taught Sunday School for over forty years and participated in other church activities. She had many friends and was loved by those who knew her. It is her desire that her life be a celebration of love.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2004, at Winter Park Baptist Church by the Rev. Michael Tutterow. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be members of her Sunday School Class (Circle of Friends), who bought her love and comfort in many ways.
