Myrtle Lee Corbett Fowler, 84, of Wilmington, NC, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center.
She was born on October 15, 1930 in Pender County, NC, the daughter of the late John Robert and Minnie Jane Walker Corbett.
Lee and her husband owned and operated R.C. Fowler Properties, Real Estate, Home Supply and Associated Utilities. She was a member of Winter Park Baptist Church where she loved her friends in the Joy class. Lee enjoyed spending time at the beach, boating, clamming, fishing, cookouts and family gatherings.
Surviving is her husband of sixty-six years, R.C. Fowler, two daughters, Sherry Lewis of Wilmington and Connie Sheppard and husband Dave of Lake Wales, FL; two sons, Scott Fowler and Jeff Fowler of Wilmington; her special daughter-in-law, Sherrie Fowler of Asheboro, NC; five grandchildren, Russell Lewis, Kameron, Kendall (Tabitha), Emilee and Kennedy Fowler; former son-in-law, Robert G. Lewis and step grandson, Robert L. Lewis. She is also survived by one sister, Virginia Honeycutt; best friend, Jeanette Naval; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful grand dog, Melee. Also remembered is her sister, Lena Lott and brothers, Walter, Tim, Nick, Sam and Johnny Corbett, all of who preceded her in death.
Lee was a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul. She was known for her kindness, compassion, tolerance and generosity. We were honored to have had her in our lives. We love her and will miss her.
