Alice M. (Rayfield) Watson, 90, passed away on May 10, 2009 at Cashmere Convalescent Center. She was born Sept. 30, 1918 to Newton and Ellen (Barnes) Rayfield at Sevier County, Tenn. where she was raised and educated. On August 22, 1936, she married Frank Watson (1915-1975) at Sevierville. In the early '50s, they moved to Leavenworth where Alice went to work for the old hospital in the housekeeping department.

Alice loved to cook, especially for her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, growing many types of vegetables for canning, but her greatest love was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two sons, Harris (Norma) Watson of Yuma, Ariz. and Daniel (Char) Watson of Leavenworth, Wash. one brother, Floyd Rayfield of Leavenworth and two sisters, Lillard Noland of Peshastin and Rosetta Dunn of Cashmere; two grandsons, Doug Watson of Leavenworth and Keith Watson of Seattle; two granddaughters, Koreen Watson of Leavenworth, Wash. and Jody Watson of MO. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Watson; and infant son and two infant daughters; two brothers and three sisters.

A Graveside service of commemoration to celebrate the life of Alice Watson will be held on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. View Cemetery in Leavenworth with Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Ward's Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth from 1 to 7 p.m.
