Albert and Catherine traveled to Missouri, South Dakota, Arkansas, and Oklahoma going by team and wagon. They returned to Iowa and engaged in farming there. Albert also worked for the Railroad at Esterville,Iowa.
Albert and his family moved to Montana in May of 1913, joining his father and brothers who had homesteaded on the North Fork of Burns Creek. Albert settled on the South Fork of Burns Creek where they farmed until the fall of 1935. They then purchased a small irrigated tract of land just west of Savage where they lived until their death.
Catherine Evans Mc Farland was born to James and Mary HAMILTON Evans. Catherine's mother was born in Ireland and her father was born in Connecticut.
After Catherine's father died, her mother remarried and her name became Mary Hamilton Evans Sykes.
