Major and Mrs. John D. Blagg, Jr. were married November 23, 1952, and both were graduated from Louisiana State University Law School in June of 1953. For several months, in their home town of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, they were known as "Blagg and Blagg, Attorneys at Law". Major Blagg is now stationed at Webb Air Force Base. He and Mrs. Blagg are parents of four children, John III, 12, Clay, 10, Clare, 8 and Mike, 3.

A resident of Warner Robins, Georgia,he died Friday, December 13, 1996. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 30 years, retiring in 1983 as a colonel. His decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal with device, Air Force Commendation Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Ribbon with six devices, National Defense Service Medal with device, Vietnam Service Medal with device and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Memorial services were held at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home chapel, Decatur, Ga., at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Balappa Selvaraj.
Survived by wife, Elizabeth C. Blagg; sons, John D. Blagg III, Miami, Robert C. Blagg, Warner Robins, and Michael F. Blagg, Chandler, Ariz.; a daughter, Clare Blagg Rochester, Baton Rouge; grandsons, Kyle Gregory Blagg, Ridgeway, S.C., and Daniel Reed Rochester, Baton Rouge; granddaughters, Lacey Elizabeth Rochester, Baton Rouge, and Abby Jo Blagg, Chandler.
Preceded in death by a grandson, John D. Blagg IV. He was an LSU graduate with bachelor of arts and juris doctor degrees. He was a member of Delta Sigma Chi fraternity.
