The Rev. Charles Adams Jr., 83, of 248 Taylor St. died this morning in Veterans Administration Hospital, Dayton. He had been ill several monts.
Born in Yellow Spring July 30, 1889, he was the son of Charles and Lavina Lawson Adams. He was associate pastor of Third Baptist Church where he was former director of Senio Choir and former deacon. He was retired from the maintenance department at Greene Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his widow, Ida; five stepsons, Amiel Lee Bent of Wilmington, Walter Bent, Michael Bent and Duane Bent of Xenia, and Sylanus Bent of Dale City, Va.; two stepdaughters, Meckaela Glenn of Yellow Springs and Ida Lou Koonce of Warren; a brother, Kenneth Adams of Yellow Springs; a sister, Naomi Lay of Springfield and 28 grandchildren. Several sisters and prothers predeceased him.
The Rev. W. W. Wilson will conduct services at 1 p.m. Thursday in Third Baptist Church, with burial in Cherry Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday, 4-9 p.m., at Winfrey Funeral Home.
