Called By Death
On Sunday evening at 7 o'clock Mrs. Dorothea Henrietta Hanske was called to her reward at her home in this city, after a lingering illness, death resulting from influenza and the infirmities of old age. The deceased, nee Mitterhausen, was a native of Germany, being born in Hannover, March 2, 1848. She came to America as a child of 3 1-2 years with her parents, who settled in Maywood, a suburb of Chicago, where she grew to womanhood. She
was married in Chicago, in 1866 to Julius Hanske, and later came to Kiel, where she has since resided. Her husband died in 1881. In 1885 she entered in a second marriage with John Parent, who passed away five years ago. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Chr. Hein, by the first marriage (a son Edmund died in 1914) and a daughter, Mrs. John Schuster, by the second marriage. Also 3 granchildren, 1 great grandchild; two brothers, Henry
Mitterhausen of Fort. Dodge, Iowa, and Wm. Mitterhausen of Milwaukee; and one half brother, Louis Tonhose of Bejour, Minn.
