Kiel--On Friday, the 17th of this month at 10 o'clock noon the oldest resident of Kiel died at the home of his son, Emil, Karl August Hanske, due to old age. He had reached the age of almost 91 years. He was born on March 20, 1817 in Goerlitz in Kirchsopiel Wendish Government district Lignitz Schleisien. After he had gone to school and graduated he learned carpentry. He was married in 1848 to Johanna Meiselwitz, came to America in 1860 with his wife and two sons. He settled in Kiel where he has lived ever since. His wife died 12 years ago and one son, 26 years ago. Survivors are one son, Emil, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The burial was on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Pastor Rech officiated and burial was on Kiel cemetery.
