Arlene was the daughter of Bessie Wright and Charles Eugene Layton, but was later adopted by Bessie's second husband Irwin Townsend.

Arlene J., resident of West Covina, passed away July 5, 1979. Born May 22, 1905. Survived by her husband, Lee F. Mc Namara; two daughters, Lisa Nash and Patty J. Jacobs; daughter-in-law, Madelyn Mc Namara. Services will be held Monday, July 9, 10 AM, Memorial Chapel at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier.
