Mrs.- Henrietta Orem, 83 years old, widow of James Orem, and for many years a resident of Sandcreek township, passed away last night about 8 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Thomas, at Alert. Her death was due to a complication of diseases common to old age, and it occurred on the same day of the month as that of her husband, who passed away four years ago. Funeral services will held Saturday afternoon at the Thomas home, conducted by the Rev. F. C. Hood, Presbyterian minister of Franklin. Burial in Spinger cemetery.

Mrs. Orem spent the greater part of her life in Elizabethtown, where for many years her husband operated a blacksmith shop. She had been making her home with her daughter for some time. Mrs. Orem was a highly esteemed woman and had many friends. Besides the daughter, she leaves one granddaughter, Mrs. Lloyd DuLong, of Elizabethtown.
