On October 21, 1847 as Cuthbert P. Wallach, he married Annie E.T. Beall in the District of Columbia.

Cuthbert P. Wallach
Pay Director Cuthbert P. Wallach, a retired officer of the United States Navy, died at the Hotel Marlborough, in this city, yesterday. He arrived at the hotel with his daughter on April 11 and had been under a doctor's care since that date. His death was due to a complication of troubles incident to age. He was more than seventy years old. His son, Richard Wallach, arrived at the hotel yesterday afternoon and made arrangements for the removal of the body.

Pay Director Wallach was appointed Paymaster on June 1, 1861, from the District of Columbia and his residence at the time of his death was Washington. He was promoted to be Pay Inspector in March 1871 and Pay Inspector in March 1871 and Pay Director in March 1880, being retired on July 4, 1889.
