"RALPH SNOWBALL, SR., DEAD - One of Pioneers Succumbs to Complication of Diseases - Long Resident of Utah.
Ralph Snowball, Sr., one of the fast thinning ranks of Utah pioneers, died yesterday evening at 6 o'clock at his home, 34 K street. He was 65 years old and was born in Newcastle-on-Tyne. He started across the plains, when very young, with his father and mother, Thomas and Elizabeth Snowball, both of whom died during the hard and toilsome journey.
Mr. Snowball is survived by a widow, Mrs. Jane Thomas Snowball, and eight children - Mrs. Mary Jane Pickering, Mrs. Julia Ringwood, Ralph T. Snowball, Thomas F. Snowball, Mrs. Maud Hodder, Mrs. Nettie Farrington, James W. Snowball and Miss Berdetta Snowball. He also leaves twenty-six grandchildren.
Other relatives in Utah of Mr. Snowball are John G. Snowball of Randolph, a brother, and Mrs. Elizabeth Burt of Brigham City, a sister.
Mr. Snowball was a member of the Black Hawk War association and of the Volunteer Firemen's Association. His death was due to heart failure and diabetes.
The funeral services will be held in the Twenty-first ward Latter-day Saints chapel tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock."
