Was Native of Union County--Funeral Today.

Mrs. William J. McKenzie died yesterday afternoon at 6:30 o'clock at the home of her son, Mr. Thomas C. McKenzie, at 818 North Church street. She was 67 years old.

Mrs. McKenzie had been in frail health for a number of years but had been acutely ill for only about a week. The funeral will be conducted from the residence this afternoon at 4 o'clock by Rev. L. A. Falls, pastor of Brevard Street Methodist Church, of which Mrs. McKenzie was a consistent and devoted member. The beauty of her character made her beloved of all.

A native of Union County, Mrs. McKenzie was born December 2, 1847. for some time she had made her home here with her son. She is survived by her husband, and the following children: Mrs. T. W. Austin of Wadesboro, Mr. T. C. McKenzie of Charlotte, Mrs. R. B. Hill of Hamlet, Mrs. J. M. Beatty of Monroe, Mrs. A. F. Mosteller of Charlotte, Mr. W. W. McKenzie of Charlotte, Mr. J. F. McKenzie of Hamlet and Miss Lillie McKenzie. She is survived also by four sisters: Mrs Ringstaff of Lancaster, S. C.; Mrs. Martha Trott of Charlotte; Mrs. Della Hasty of Charlotte; Mrs. C. W. Bruner of Monroe.
